Goose River Field Notes

Goose River Field Notes is the result of fifteen months of photographing the three-mile Goose River in Rockport, Maine that begins in the mountains, flows through my backyard, and ends in the sea. The themes are time and personal history. My observations of geology, botany, wildlife, hydrology, weather, geomorphology and memories are captured in the field notes.

I am grateful for Richard Reitz Smith’s help with design, Cig Harvey’s eye for sequencing the photographs and Nick at Conveyor Studio which printed the book.

Goose River Field Notes was published as a limited edition (100 copies) of which 20 remain. The book is hardbound, 72 pages, 10” x 12’’ and contains 32 color photographs and 15 essays. You can purchase a copy for $50 by contacting me here.
